The Embrace Collection took root when I met the ladies from the new Denver chapter of the IRC and learned that they would be helping over 60 families relocate to Colorado this year. I was instantly inspired to donate a large flower portrait for each of the refugee's homes. A piece of beauty and stillness; a housewarming gift that could make their new house a home. I knew I could not do this project alone and hoped to find a way to empower my community & like-hearted people to help.
I see this as an opportunity to welcome refugee families with open, trusting, compassionate hearts; to focus on creating community and abundance; to send a different message than our current government's and those who are operating out of a space of fear; and to give others an opportunity to do the same.
In this vein, when anyone purchases a flower portrait this season, I will match their purchase and donate a flower portrait in their name to the IRC fort the home of a refugee family in Colorado. I am hoping that my community, near and far, will help to welcome refugee families with beauty, kindness, and compassion.
In this collection there are flower portraits of roses, dahlias, begonias, foxglove, and hydrangea.
