This summer was a precious time for me because my sister was home from Kenya for six weeks with her husband and their girls. They are missionaries in Nairobi and I am so proud of the love, encouragement, and tools they are offering the pastors there. At the same time, Kenya is a long way away, and I miss them like crazy. Any chance I have to spend time with my nieces, Ellyana and Enjolie, is a gift.
Elly is a mini-me somehow. How this happened is a mystery since my sister and I look quite different from each other and have very different personalities. It has been an incredible gift for me to watch a little version of myself– with a more stable family and home life– . , My mother gifted Elly with a camera this summer and she requested a special date with me to the Denver Botanic Gardens so we could photograph flowers together. Be still my beating heart.
